Abuja - Photos reportedly showing some of the Nigerian students and others arrested in Turkey for their alleged involvement in a coup have been released.
They were arrested alongside some citizens of the country.
The detained Nigerians according to News 24 were all escorted to a room and their passport confiscated by Turkish police.
The detainees are mainly students of Fathi University, a private university in the county.
The Fathi University is among the 2099 schools, dormitories and universities shut down in the wake of the July 15th failed coup in Turkey.
The Turkish authorities said the schools and universities were terrorist schools because they have links with Islamic scholar Fethullah Gulen, whom the Turkish government had accused of being the mastermind of the coup in Turkey.
The federal government has demanded their immediate release News 24 reports
A Nigerian official in Ankara, Turkey had been directed to meet the Turkish government over the issue.
