New York - President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived New York, United States of America where he would participate at the 71st General Assembly of the United Nations.
Buhari departed Nigeria on Sunday for New York.
He would deliver a keynote address on “Taking Climate Action Towards Sustainable Development in Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin.”
Buhari according to News 24 is also expected to hold talks with US President Barack Obama.
Obama will discuss with President Buhari about continued U.S. support for security and economic changes in the country, as well the government’s efforts to counter the terrorist group Boko Haram.
Buhari was accompanied by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state and Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara state.
Dr Kayode Fayemi , Minister of Solid Minerals and his environment counterpart, Amina Mohammed and other top government officials also accompanied the President on the trip.
