"The suspect confessed to burying Isaac but denied killing her. He had attempted to rape her but as she was trying to run away, she was hit by a wood on the head and that led to her death.

"We invited doctors from Murtala Muhammad specialist Hospital to conduct autopsy on the deceased's body. We are now waiting for the result,” Majiya said.

According to him, the police commissioner, Mr Rabi’u Yusuf had ordered the transfer of the suspect from the Special Anti-kidnapping Unit to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for appropriate investigation.

"The suspect is currently with the police undergoing interrogation to ascertain the cause of the deceased's death,’’ the police spokesman said.

He said as soon as investigation was completed the suspect would be charged to court.
