Police foil attempt to set station ablaze in Ebonyi

Ebonyi - The Ebonyi State Police Command foiled an attempt by some suspected hoodlums to set a police station at Noyo in Ikwo local government area of the state on fire.

In a statement by the commissioner of police, Peace Ibekwe-Abdallah, she said all effort made by the hoodlums to set the police station on fire was aborted by the policemen on duty.

“The gang who operated with AK47 rifles poured petrol and threw fire into the DPO’s Office before they were repelled by the superior fire power of officers on duty.

“All the officers and men at the station are safe except a guard who sustained injury during the attack.”

According to the police boss, the police had since after the incident had begun trailing the suspected hoodlums.

She enjoined members of the public to always provide useful information to the police to enable them to carry out their operations effectively.
