07 July 2016, 17:42

Abuja - Police officials in Akwa Ibom have reported the arrest of a three-man gang allegedly specializing in hypnotizing girls and defiling them shortly afterwards, Naij has confirmed.

ASP Cordelia Nwawe, spokesperson for the Akwa Ibom Police Command, claimed that the suspects were going around the Uyo metropolis using a tricycle to pick up unsuspecting victims before raping them.

The gang's last victim, a student at the University of Uyo, reported her violation to officials after she claimed she had been hypnotized and defiled by the three men.

Following her ordeal, the victim reported that she had been forced to take an oath to never speak of the incident or loose her life.

While confessing to their crime, the men claimed that they had lost count of how many women they had raped since the beginning of their spree, Sun News Online reports.

The suspects are expected to be charged to court very soon.
