Kano - Heavily armed policemen have shut down the guest house of former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso located at Lugard Road, Nassarawa GRA, Kano, Vanguard reports.

The development was sequel to secret mass wedding of over 100 couples allegedly conducted by Kwankwasiyya foundation on Monday.

The residence popular known as Lugard Hall to city dwellers came under police action Tuesday following reports that Hundred of the affected couple were trooping into the residence to collect their gift.

The Kano police Commissioner, Rabiu Yusuf through the command image maker DSP Magaji Musa Mania while confirming the seal explained that “we moved in to prevent illegal assembly."

News24 previously reported the Kano State Police Command has banned the planned mass wedding organized by a group loyal to the former governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The mass wedding coincided with the State government's planned empowerment programs slated over the weekend.

The police announced on Thursday through a statement by PPRO Musa Magaji Majia that the mass wedding has been indefinitely banned.
