Police secretly killed 20 of our members - MASSOB

15 March 2016, 08:29

Abuja - The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), along with the Biafra Independent Movement (BIM), have accused officials from the Anambra State Police of secretly killing approximately 20 of its members, Vanguard reports.

According to Wilfred Aninze, Regional Administrator of Anambra West, most of the deceased were caught with Biafra insignia and number plate numbers, with Aninze questioning alleged inhumane treatment from officials and challenging them to disprove the allegations.

"The secret killing came to the limelight when one of our members, Okechukwu Joseph, was reported missing by his wife. Early this year, 10 of our members were declared missing and from the report we got, they were secretly arrested and killed by the Police without the knowledge of our members," Aninze revealed.

"By the end of February, the number of those declared missing which we suspected to have secretly been killed stood at 20," stated the Regional Administrator.

MASSOB has since threatened that they will not continue to conduct non-violent protests should the alleged violence towards their members not come to a halt.
