Abuja – The Nigeria Police has warned security
details against escorting principals and politicians to polling booths and
collation centres during the Ondo State governorship election.
This is against electoral laws.
“Any deviant security detail will be apprehended and dealt
with accordingly,” said Force spokesperson, Don Awunah.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris,
assured the electorate, the contestants and all law abiding citizens in Ondo of
adequate security throughout the election.
“He enjoins them to cooperate with the police personnel in
the discharge of their duties,” said Awunah.
