Presidency reveals how Buhari will reshuffle cabinet

14 November 2016, 15:21

Abuja - Special Adviser Media & Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina, has stated that the President was the only one that can assess his ministers as he was the one who assembled and assigned them to their various ministries.

Adesina, made the disclosure on Channels TV on Sunday where he spoke on some national topical issues.

He said the decision of President Buhari to reshuffle his cabinet would be totally his decision.

"Let me refer you to the Good Book. It says, "who are you to judge another man’s servant? It is before his master that he either rises or falls."

The President assembled that cabinet, he has timelines and deliverables for them. So he is the one who can judge and assess them. If he is going to re-jig that cabinet, it is going to be his decision, his prerogative", he said.

The Peoples Democratic Party National Youth Frontier (PDPNYF) had advised President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency reshuffle his cabinet in order to end the sufferings of Nigerians according to News24.

In a statement issued in Abuja, by its National Coordinator, Usman Okai Austin, the PDPNYF expressed concern that giving the current economic woes, and what it described as the implication of President Buhari’s slow reaction to the economic issues, “it’s now obvious that the President is helpless and clueless, lacking technocrats and capable hands in his cabinet that will help the nation out of the current economic recession.”

According to Okai, President Buhari must immediately dissolve his cabinet because it’s dysfunctional.
