Pupil gang raped for refusing tailor's advances

18 January 2016, 08:48

Abuja - Lagos police are currently investigating the alleged gang rape of a Primary Five student in the Bariga LGA of the state, Punch reports.

The victim, Zainab (15), is said to have been lured into an apartment where she was subsequently raped after allegedly refusing the advances of a tailor in the area.

Although the case was first reported to the Owonronshoki Police Division, it was allegedly dismissed and had to then be reported to an agency of the Lagos State Government.

According to Zainab, she was given a piece of cloth from her boss that needed tailoring. After approaching a tailor by the name of Femi to sew the fabric, the man allegedly pestered her for a date.

After refusing Femi's advances, she was allegedly called to his house by his son. She was subsequently gagged, following which five men took turns raping her.

Six suspects have allegedly been arrested since the attack and are currently under questioning from officials.
