Resource centre to transform learning in Lagos

Lagos - Education standards in Lagos are poised for a major improvement after a mobile network operator announced plans to establish a learning resource centre in the region.

Staff will set up the centre later this month as part of the tenth of anniversary of Y'ello Care, the volunteerism scheme of the MTN Group.

The centre, located at the Ideal Primary School in Festac Town, will serve all 20 local government primary schools in the state.

A Train the Teacher initiative will also be conducted in Lagos and Owerri, providing an introduction to basic computer skills and general soft skills.

In addition, the team will donate educational and digital learning material to identified school libraries which cater to under-served communities.

MTN Nigeria is MTN Group’s biggest entity with over 61 million subscribers.

This is over a quarter of the Group’s subscriber base.
