Rivers - Factional Chairman of the Rivers State council of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Beatrice Itubo has escaped an attempted assassination, after a gang of three gunmen broke into her residence in the early hours of Saturday.
The hoodlums stormed Itubo’s residence at Rumuaholu community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, shot at the gate and damaged doors to force their way into her bedroom.

Itubo said one of the gunmen was overpowered by members of her household, while two of the gang members escaped.
Beatrice Itubo, who leads a faction of the NLC in Rivers State, said it was possible that she was attacked because of the power tussle in the union.
The chairman urged the Rivers State Police Command to investigate the attempted assassination and bring the perpetrators to justice.
