Saraki pledges loyalty to APC

19 July 2016, 12:11

Abuja - Senate President, Bukola Saraki, said he was still loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) despite the challenges he is currently facing, Vanguard reports.

He was quoted as speaking at the 10th Abuja Housing show theme: “Expanding Access To Affordable Housing In Africa.” in a statement by his Special Assistant new media, Bamikole Omishore.

Saraki assured that the APC government was unwaveringly committed to the social welfare of the people while re-affirming his unalloyed loyalty to the party.

News24 reported that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, was alleged to have pleaded with the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami to drop forgery charges against him and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu.

The senate president was said to have met privately with the AGF at the premises of the Senate when Malami, accompanied by Ita Enang, President Muhammadu Buhari’s special assistant on the National Assembly, arrived to see Senator David Umaru, head of the Senate committee on the judiciary.

A source at the Senate and another in the AGF’s office said that Saraki requested to see Malami after the AGF’s meeting with Senator Umaru.

The attorney general was said to have agreed to meet with Saraki in the presence of Ita Enang.
