Abuja - The Senate Committee on Environment has
advised the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria (EHORECON)
on prudent use of funds.
Chairperson of the committee, Oluremi Tinubu, gave the
advice in Abuja when the committee visited the council as part of the Senate
Tinubu said the purpose of the visit was to ensure money
budgeted for the EHORECON was put to good use for the Nigerian people.

Co-Chairman of the committee, Suleiman Hunkuyi, added the
intention of the visit was to strengthen the agency by way of collaboration
between the National Assembly and the council.
“It is a way of assisting government having not to provide
for every cost effect, be it Capital or recurrent expenditure,” said Hunkunyi.
Registrar of the council, Dominic Abonyi, commended the
efforts of government.
“The council has enjoyed government attention more now than
ever before,” said Abonyi.
