Abuja - The President of the Senate, Bukola
Saraki, will on Wednesday meet civil society and non-governmental organisations
to discuss the 2016 budget.
It was established the meeting would afford the
organisations an opportunity to contribute their ideas, perspectives, inputs
and strategies to complement those of the lawmakers in order to pass a budget
that could be reflective of the needs of a majority of Nigerians.
“The vision of this initiative is also to promote
inclusiveness and implement an open and transparent National Assembly as set
out in the legislative agenda of the 8th Senate,” read a statement obtained by
CAJ News Africa.

It added that the organisations interested participating
physically in this exercise should indicate their organisation, full name and
phone numbers of their representatives of that would be attending the meeting.
