Abuja - The Senate is later today set to
commence deliberations on the 2016 budget.
This follows adoption of a letter written to lawmakers by
President Muhammadu Buhari on the correction of the document.
Senate spokesman, Aliyu Sabi, confirmed the development.
He said the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, had directed
that copies of the budget should be distributed to the legislators.

He assured Nigerians that the lawmakers would pass the
2016 budget on time.
“We are targeting end of next month to pass the budget,”
Sabi said the letter Buhari wrote to lawmakers
put to end media reports suggesting the 2016 budget was missing.
