Abuja - The Senate on Tuesday returned the list of the non-career ambassadorial nominees sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari for confirmation and approval.
This follows the controversies that had trailed the list.
The Senate rejected the list because its composition ran foul of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
The Senate urged Buhari to resubmit the list at a later date.
News 24 recalls that Buhari had on October 20 forwarded 46 names of the non-career ambassadorial nominees to Senate.
The list submitted by Buhari had generated controversies as many of the governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress kicked against it.
The Senate, however, approved the nomination of 47 career ambassadors forwarded to it by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari had in June forwarded the names of 47 career ambassadors to the Senate for confirmation.
