Service Chiefs brief Senate on Chibok girls

Abuja - The country’s Service Chiefs are on Wednesday scheduled to appear before Senate to brief the lawmakers on efforts been put in place to rescue school girls Boko Haram abducted at Chibok Government Secondary School two years ago.

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno, is also set to appear.

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, disclosed the development at the Plenary on Tuesday.

“The Service Chiefs will appear by 1pm on Wednesday to brief the Senate on the efforts made to rescue the Chibok girls,” said Ekweremadu.

“All Senators should be around early to appraise themselves with the brief of the service chief,” Ekweremadu added.

Last week, the Senate summoned the Security Chief to brief them on their effort to rescue the girls.

Efforts to rescue the more than 200 girls have been unsuccessful thus far.
