Abuja - No less than seven people were killed on Sunday as rival vigilante groups clashed in Adamawa State, Premium Times has reported.

The battle is alleged to have broken out during a coronation of two officials from a union of Nigerian hunters in Gombi.

Musa Buba, a resident in the area, has reported that seven local hunters were killed during the clash, while 19 others had been rushed to a nearby hospital during to various injuries.

According to Muhammad Tola, state chairman of the hunters association, hunters who were loyal to the other faction entered the coronation while it was still underway and began firing shots sporadically.
