Kano - Seven pupils of Government Girls’ Secondary School, Jogana in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State died on Sunday night when a mysterious fire razed one of the school hostels, reports The Punch.
25 others sustained varying degrees of injuries in the incident
The fire, according to an eyewitness, started at 8.10pm, when the pupils were preparing to go to bed.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Kano State Deputy Governor Hafiz Abubakar, who visited the scene of the incident, confirmed the number of casualties to journalists.
He directed that the school should be closed immediately to assuage the trauma caused by the disaster and to honour the deceased.
