Abuja - Six out of 13 prisoners that escaped from a Koton-Karfe prison in Kogi state have been recaptured by police with the assistance of other security agencies and vigilante groups, Naij reports.
Ja'afaru Ahmed, the controller-general of Prisons confirmed that 13 inmates had escaped from the prison on Saturday July 30 with six now being recaptured and back in the custody of prison officials.

Ahmed added that security would now be beefed up at prisons to ensure that similar occurrences do not happen in the future.
He concluded that a panel had been created to do a full investigation into the jailbreak, which is the third of its kind at the Koton-Karfe prison in recent times.
