09 August 2016, 17:31

Yenogoa - Stern-looking and war-kitted troops on Monday barricaded some creeks and waterways of Bayelsa State in search of  Niger Delta militants, reports The Nation.

The operation commenced following the declaration by the Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Delta Safe (ODS) that it would go “on the offensive” to fish out all the militants and killers of soldiers at a military checkpoint in Nembe on Monday morning.

The militants, who disguised themselves in white-mourning outfits, also made away with two gunboats during the operation according to News 24

They also carted away several arms and ammunition belonging to the security outfit.
