Abuja – Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Archdiocese, Mathew Kukah has reportedly urged Nigerians to stop politicizing President Muhammadu Buhari’s ill health.
According to Premium Times, Kukah said this in reaction to the controversy recently generated by the ill health of Buhari, who is currently in the United Kingdom for treatment of his ear.
He said the duty of Nigerians was to pray for Buhari.
He said some leaders of some popular nations had health challenges, which however, were properly managed to avoid unnecessary public attention.
"Reagan (former US President, Ronald Reagan) suffered from Alzheimer’s and for the greater part of ten years nobody had the slightest idea, what was happening to Reagan."
This came as reports on Saturday indicated that doctors, who examined Buhari’s ear infection in London, had cleared him to travel back to Nigeria next week.
Buhari was likely to leave London for Abuja on Thursday, the reports said.
