Suicide bombers intercepted, blow selves up

Abuja - The Nigeria military has reminded residents to be extra vigilant amid fears terrorist will strike following some loss of personnel.

In the latest breakthrough by the Army, two suspected suicide bombers have been allegedly trying to infiltrate Maiduguri through Muna Dalti.

The area is about 100 metres ahead of a military and vigilate checkpoint.

“Now the heat is on the insurgents, there is desperate likelyhood to penetrate innocent and attack soft targets in towns villages and cities," Media Coordinator of the counter-insurgency force in the North-East, Mustapha Anka, said.

"The public is once again reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement persons and objects to the nearest security agency."

The area has been cordoned while aggressive search is going on in the general area,” Anka said.

The area where the suspected bombers were intercepted and later blew themselves up has been cordoned.

Apart from the culprits, there were no other casualties.
