Abuja – Unknown gunmen reportedly raided the Imushin community in the Ogijo area of Ogun state on Friday and killed at least 15 residents.
According to Punch, the suspected militants, who numbered about 100 and armed with guns and cutlasses, stormed the community around 23:00 and embarked on a killing spree, killing every resident in sight.
A mosque in the community was reportedly attacked and a Muslim cleric killed.
One of the residents said the militants were suspected to be Ijaw youths involved in pipeline vandalism.
A report by The Cable indicated that many of the residents, who preferred to remain anonymous, said the militants threatened to return to continue the killings.
