Taraba - Taraba Governor, Darius Ishaku, said his administration was committed to ensuring protection of lives and property in the state.
The area is among several regions beset by ethnic clashes in the country.
“This is a critical point that Taraba is struggling to overcome internal security challenges occasioned by attacks from faceless armed groups on innocent people," Ishaku said.
He stated this in Jalingo while reacting to various issues raised recently in a communique by stakeholders of All Progressive Congress (APC).
Ishaku appealed to the public to complement government efforts to curb insecurity.
"It is only reasonable to conduct systematic scrutiny of people who are trooping in from other states to settle in the same rural communities where these attacks are prevalent,” he said.
Scores of people have been in ethnic clashes in the state, prompting the deployment of ati-riot police earlier this week.
