Taraba speaker's driver stabbed for foiling kidnap

Abuja - A driver to the Speaker of Taraba State house assembly was allegedly stabbed by a kidnapper who was attempting to kidnap a daughter of the speaker, Vanguard reported.

This occurred at the speaker's house in Jalingo when he was not at home.

According to reports, the kidnapper came into the house with a lady who stayed close to the gate to watch the surroundings.

The kidnapper then stopped the driver who was convoying the speaker's daughter to school and told the driver fuel was coming out of the car.

The driver then stopped and bent down to check what was going on. The kidnapper stabbed the driver while the lady who was standing at the gate rushed to grab the girl in the car.

The girl alerted the security inside the house and arrested the situation.

The driver was taken to the Jalingo Specialist Hospital to receive treatment.

The matter is being investigated by police.
