Asaba - Thomas Osen Ekpemupolo, the father of embattled Niger Delta ex militant leader, Tompolo is dead, reports NewsDay
Ekpemupolo, who is also the Tunteriwei of Gbaramatu kingdom died on Wednesday morning at Lily Clinic, Deco road, Warri in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
He was aged 84 years.
Many people of the kingdom are blaming his death on the brutalization he suffered in the hands of the soldiers when his palace was invaded about three months ago.
News 24 had reported that Tomplo had written President Muhammadu Buharii to complain about how the soldiers manhandled his father during the invasion of the Gbaramatu kingdom in search of him
Tompolo in the open letter to Buhari dated July 22 said the soldiers invaded his house in his absence in search of him on allegation that he was behind the bombing of oil facilities in the region.

He said the military invasion of the Kingdom led to the brutalisation of his aged father by the army which later metamorphosed to the amputation of the lower limb of his father.
Tompolo in the letter expressed fear for the survival of his father due to the alleged severe military torture meted out on his aged father.
