Speaking at the 2016 National Summit on Culture and Tourism in Abuja, President Buhari said that the tourism sector would be rejuvenated by his administration to uplift the country's dwindling economy.

Although tourism is mainly a private-sector driven industry, the government committed itself to provide support which will enable the tourism sector to thrive. One of these initiatives would be to provide sustainable and dependable infrastructure.

Buhari also called upon investors to show their support and invest their money in small businesses which would further drive the economy.
