Treasury offers more support to Army against terror

11 February 2016, 21:36Emeka Okonkwo

Abuja - The Accountant General, Ahmed Idris, has pledged the continued support and cooperation of the Treasury office to the Nigerian Army.

He commended the Army for the success so far recorded in the current fight against Boko Haram terror.

Idris made the remarks during a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

He made the most of the occasion to thank the Chief of Army Staff for fulfilling his promises of constructing car ports, rehabilitating the car parks and landscaping the parking areas at the Office of Accountant General of the Federation during his visit to the Accountant General some time last year.

The Chief of Army Staff made the promise as part of his office's cooperate social responsibility.

Idris thus praised the leadership qualities of Buratai, which he said had seen the Army achieve much within the short time of his tenure in office.

Buratai meanwhile pledged his continued support to the programmes and plans of the Office of the Accountant General.
