Troops destroy another Boko Haram weapons facility

18 November 2015, 14:16

Abuja - The Nigerian Army has reported the destruction of a Boko Haram rocket factory at Jamrari in Borno State.

The troops of 111 Special Forces Battalion, 7 Division Garrison discovered the facility.

Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director Army Public Relations, said the development had put paid to the much-touted ability of the terrorists to fabricate rockets and their launchers using rudimentary materials.

"This has further crippled the terrorists and greatly emboldened the troops in carrying out more offensive actions against the terrorists till they are defeated,” Usman said.

He added that the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, who is on constant communication with the troops, commended them for this singular act and other similar feats and encouraged them to do more to ensure the terrorists are on the verge of being defeated.
