Troops kill 100 Boko Haram insurgents

Maiduguri - Nigerian soldiers have killed100 members of the Boko Haram sect, reports Daily Trust.

The troops also rescued over 1 000 women and children abducted by the insurgents and liberated three villages held by the sect.

The liberated villages are Boboshe, Garidawaji and Mamawari villages in Dikwa local government 

Caretaker Chairman of Dikwa local government, Mohammed Ali Gana  revealed this while briefing the state Deputy governor,  Usman Mamman Durkwa who visited the area on Tuesday.

Gana said the soldiers stormed Boboshe on Saturday when a large number of Boko Haram insurgents gathered at a weekly market in the village where they were buying and selling,

He stated that the soldiers attacked and destroyed the insurgents’ camps at Garidawaji and Mamawari villages and rescued the women and children in their captivity

The rescued victims are now in the Internal Displaced Camp (IDP) in Dikwa.
