UNICAL lecturer, students abducted in Calabar

Calabar - A lecturer in the School of Medical Sciences, University of Calabar (UNICAL), Dr. Stephen Ndifon and two students of the institution have been kidnapped by gunmen.

The lecturer and the students were abducted by seven armed men who came in a speedboat through the Obufa Esuk River near the university staff quarters about 4a.m.

The gunmen were said to have invaded the residential quarters of the university in Calabar, Cross River State to abduct the lecturer and the students.

The UNICAL Information Officer, Effiong Eyo, said the matter had been reported to the police and investigation was in progress.

The abductors are yet to make contacts with the family.
