Port Harcourt - Chaos engulfed the University of Port Harcourt on Monday, as what seemed to be a peaceful protest later turned violent, leading to the death of at least one student.
Students came out as early as 05:00 to express their displeasure at the increased tuition fee. As the protest continued, school properties were reportedly vandalized, a situation that reportedly forced security agencies to shoot at students.
Comrade Peter Ofurum, who was the President, Faculty of Management Sciences, was reportedly hit by bullets and died as a result.
