Abuja - A video has emerged of Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi defending the Lagos-Calabar railway project, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) sharing the footage to diffuse uncertainties.
Reports had emerged on Sunday that President Muhammadu Buhari refused to signed the controversial 2016 Budget Appropriation Bill due to several abnormalities being present in the document.
According to a Naij report, several major projects were discovered to have been removed from the budget in order to make way for several new allocations. One such project was the Lagos-Calabar railway.

In a press statement issued on Monday, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, Chairman of the House Committee on Land and Transport, confirmed that the project has been excluded from the document and that Amaechi had informed the Committee of the omission, sending a supplementary copy of the budget which did contained the project in question.
In a move to clear the air surrounding the missing allocation, the APC has now circulated footage of Amaechi mentioning the project during a press briefing, so as to address any misunderstandings that may arise as a result.
