WATCH: Armed Ijaw youths storm Rhythm FM

24 June 2016, 08:28

Abuja - A group of armed members from the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide (IYCW) have stormed the Rhythm FM radio station in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Naij reports.

The rampaging youths, transported to the station via buses and other vehicles, are said to have beaten up two executive members of the IYC as well as guests who appeared on a live show, anchored by Lishman Onisodemuya.

The youths, armed with guns and other weapons, are alleged to have fired several shots into the air, forcing employees to run for cover and interrupting the live broadcast.

The show is reported to have been shut down temporarily during the fracas, in which listeners heard screaming and scampering over the airwaves.

The mob also robbed employees of money and valuables before police arrived on the scene to put an end to the mayhem.

See footage from the rampage below.
