Abuja - In fulfillment of one of his campaign promises to cut down on expenditure, President Muhammadu Buhari has handed over two aircraft from the presidential fleet to the Nigerian Air Force.
The two helicopters were acquired by the federal government on October 20, 2014 and May 21, 2015 respectively, according to Presidency Office of Digital Engagement (PODE).
The two aircraft being handed over were AgustaWestland AW101 helicopters.
The Presidential Air Fleet has up to ten aircraft with only one, a Boeing Business Jet reserved for the President's exclusive use.

Other government officials who make use of the air fleet include Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, First Lady Aisha Buhari, Dolapo Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki and other government officials acting on behalf of the president.
