WATCH: Coalition won't stop our protest, says NLC

18 May 2016, 06:56

Abuja - The coalition of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Unions Congress (TUC) have lashed out at an injunction instituted against a nationwide strike set for Wednesday, with the group vowing that the protest will go on, regardless.

The National Industrial Court (NIC) yesterday restrained the coalition from embarking on the protest, claiming that the industrial action would not be "in the national interest".

Led by Ayuba Wabba, the NLC described the decision as a black market injunction, Vanguard reported.

"The mass action is on! Let them come with the injunction, we would disobey whatever injunction they are coming up with," said Abiodun Aremu, Secretary of the Joint Action Front (JAF).

In addition, Aremu has also declared President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration "anti-human" due to its alleged position against Nigerian masses.

See the coalition in action in the video below.
