We are ready to receive Obasanjo, says PDP

09 August 2016, 08:37

Abuja - The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has revealed that it is ready to received former President Olusegun Obasanjo back into the stable should he be willing to return to the party, Naij reports.

Disclosed in a statement released by Senator Walid Jibrin, Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), the party has revealed that it is "alive and kicking", contrary to popular belief.

In addition, Jibrin has urged Obasanjo to have a change of heart and make his return to the opposition party.

The BoT Chairman's revelations come in stark contrast with a previous statement that he had made, claiming that Obasanjo would have to apologize in order to be resubmitted back into the PDP.

According to a previous Naij report, Jibrin made his utterances following Obasanjo tearing up his membership card on February 16, 2015.
