Woman claims she stole 2 babies to impress lover

03 June 2016, 17:23

Abuja - A 42-year-old native has claimed that she abducted two babies in a bid to impress her lover after having a miscarriage.

According to Vanguard, Zainab Salisu concocted the elaborate plan after claiming that she had to show her lover of one year evidence of her pregnancy.

Salisu's lover, identified as Saheed Akinwale, alleged that he assisted the pregnant woman with N250,000 so that she could fly to the United States to deliver their child.

Akinwale claims that Salisu acted as though she was in America and had three weeks ago claimed that she had returned to Nigeria with twins that she claimed were his.

The two abducted children, Feyitola and Philip, are alleged to have been abducted following Salisu's loss of pregnancy. She has claimed that she did not steal Philip but was instead requested to look after the boy following the death of his mother.

Salisu is alleged to have introduced herself to Feyitola's grandmother with the sole purpose of abducting the little girl after gaining the trust of her parents.

Both Salisu and Akinwale have since been arrested in connection with the crime, while the children have both been returned to their families.
