LIVE: PDP in clear lead over APC

The unofficial collated results from various polling units and wards across the state, available to journalists so far, show that the PDP is leading

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)are claiming to have taken the lead in Saturday’s legislative rerun elections in Rivers State.

While the PDP claimed to be in early lead, as unconfirmed results were being released at polling units and wards across the state, the APC claimed that its candidates were leading in most of the local government areas where elections were held on Saturday..

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi won his polling unit with a wide margin.

The candidates f the All Progressives Congress won in Amarchi’s Unit 14, ward 8 Ubima, Ikwerre LGA

Some of the results of the legislative rerun elections are coming out.

The results for Obio/Akpor ward 16 unit 001 gave the opposition All Progressives Congress the edge.

In the Senate, APC got 91 votes PDP 31,
For the House of representatives, APC 89, PDP 31,
For the House of Assembly APC 92, PDP 31

13: 00 Tambari Ntoti, the PDP Ward agent in Ward 3, Nonwa In Tai LGA has just been shot dead by APC thugs.

12: OO Gov Nyesom Wike has just casted his vote at his PU in Ward 9, Unit 7 at Obio-Akpor LGA.

11.00 Protest ongoing in Nonwa (Tai) LGA.Young men no fewer than 100 in number are protesting non-arrival of materials

10: 00 - People of Bonny have stormed INEC office over fake and photocopy result sheets.

9: 30  Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with signed results sheets at the university town of Choba near Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The forged results sheets have been collected from the INEC officials who are now in the police custody.

9:10 Voting has been halted in Bonny Federal Constituency following the discovery of fake electoral materials.

 A candidate for the House of Representative rerun, Barry Mpigi of the APC, is alleged to have invaded the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in the state and carted away electoral material.

The PDP has alleged the arrest of its agents in Ward 8 in Okirika local government area 

9:00 Accreditation and voting have commenced in most polling units across the state. 

Port Harcourt:  The Rivers ReRun Elections will take place in 23 LGAs, 319 Wards and 4,442 Polling Units. The elections were ordered by the Court of Appeal following the nullification of the victories of the Peoples Democratic Party candidates in the election'
