Abuja - The crisis trailing the ward congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State deepened on Wednesday as the 16 governorship aspirants in the state who boycotted the exercise took their protest to the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, reports Tribune.
They are calling for the disqualification of Nyesom Wike as a governorship aspirant over what they alleged as his acts of bringing the party to disrepute in the state.

The aggrieved aspirants accused members of the state’s ward congress electoral committee of working for Wike having received favours from him when Wike was a serving minister.
They want the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to order fresh registration of members of the party in order to produce authen¬tic party membership registers for the state chapter of the party.
