Abuja - Twenty senators have lost out in their bid to secure their parties’ gubernatorial tickets for the 2015 governorship election in their respective states, reports Daily Trust.
The senators are from both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The senators lost out to their governors who have anointed other aspirants.
The senators that lost out include Deputy senate leader Abdul Ahmed Ning (PDP, Bauchi),i; Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya (APC Kano); Ayogu Eze(PDP Enugu); Eyinnaya Abaribe (PDP, Abia); and Nkechi Nwaogu (PDP, Abia).

However, four senators are still in contention to win their party’s tickets.
The lucky senators are Solomon Ewuga (PDP Nasarawa); Gyang Pwajok, who has been endorsed by Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang; Aisha Jummai Alhassan, who is leading the opposition APC in Taraba State and Mohammed Jibrilla Bindo, who had won the primary election in APC for the botched October 11 election in Adamawa State.
