Abeokuta - The Peoples democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday expressed its determination to regain control of the South-West region in the 2015 general elections.
The Chairman, Mobilising Committee (South-West) of the party, Buruji Kashamu, gave the assurance while addressing party members in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun.
Kashamu who recalled the party's dominance of the region in the past, said it was time that the PDP regained control of the zone.
The PDP chieftain said the party has supporters scattered around the region, but has failed to mobilise them to its advantage.
He said that during his tenure as the Chairman, Mobilisation and Organisation Committee, he would provide the needed platform for the victory of the party in the region.
"Our party needs to mobilise its members who are scattered around the South-West region.
"As the chief mobiliser, I will ensure that my team penetrates into the nooks and crannies of the South- West region to fish out our members.
"We will not only search them out, we will restore confidence in them to ensure victory for the party," he said.
Kashamu said he planned to organise series of empowerment programmes as part of efforts to mobilise the people.
He said that more than 12 tanker loads of kerosine had been procured for distribution to party members in the region.
