Lagos - The Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mohammed Abubakar, on Wednesday said that the police would deploy adequate personnel and roll out necessary weapons to provide maximum security toward the general elections.
Abubakar spoke during the foundation laying ceremony of the Police Multipurpose Centre on the Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja, Lagos.
He was represented by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Works and Housing, Kachi Udeoji.
Abubakar said that the Nigeria Police Force was already prepared for the governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states.
He gave the assurance that necessary measures had been taken to ensure hitch-free elections.
"We are prepared for all elections. We will do everything possible to ensure that there is a hitch-free exercise.
"We are going to pull all our men out to provide maximum security,’’ Abubakar said.
On the multipurpose police centre, the police boss said that the project was a laudable project of the police cooperative society.
He hoped that it would generate income for the police.
