Owerri - The PDP in Imo has set up various committees to strengthen the party, ahead of the 2015 general elections.
The party’s Publicity Secretary in Imo, Mr Blyden Amajirionwu, said in a statement in Owerri on Wednesday that the committees were those of finance, mobilisation and legal.
Others are strategy and planning, information, enlightenment and media as well as peace and reconciliation committees.
The statement said that the finance committee had Nze Law Eronini as Chairman while Mr Chris Brown, Chief Tony Chukwu and Chief Chris Asoluka were members.
It said that the mobilisation committee would be chaired by Chief Jerry Chukwueke, while Athan Achonu would be his vice.
The statement also said that Mr Charles Amadi would chair the strategy and planning committee while Mr Stanford Onyilimba would be the vice.
The information, enlightenment and media committee has Chief Osita Nwaneri and Chief Ethelbert Nwachukwu as Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively.
It said that Chief Mbakwe Obi would be the chairman of the legal committee while Mr Marcel Ogwuegbu would serve as Vice Chairman.
According to the statement, Chief I.D. Nwoga will head the peace and reconciliation committee and Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu will serve as the Vice Chairman.
The release said the South-East Zonal Vice Chairman of the party, retired Col. Austin Akobundu, would inaugurate the committees at the party’s secretariat in Owerri on April 19.
