21 aspirants jostle for Mimiko’s seat

Akure - No fewer than twenty-one aspirants have lined up to take over from Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State when his tenure expires in 2016, reports Daily Trust.

The aspirants include 15 from from the opposition All Progressive congress (APC) and six from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The APC in the state has come up with the list of 15 persons warming up to take over Mimiko’s seat.

The APC list includes Femi Agagu, brother to the late Governor of state, Segun Agagu, Senator Ajayi  Boroffic, former speaker of the State House of assembly, Hon Victor Olabintan and Olusola Oke former Legal officer of the Peoples Democratic Party and the party’s governorship candidate in the 2012 gubernatorial election.

On the platform of the PDP, the  state commissioner for environment, Sola Ebiseni, special adviser to former Pesident Jonathan on Niger Delta and chairman amnesty program, Kingsley Kuku, Dr Pius Osiyinkanmi, Prince Akin Olowokere and businessman and publisher of Mirror and Daily Newswatch newspapers, Jimoh Ibrahim are among the contenders.
