23 injured in APC, PDP clash in Kogi

12 November 2015, 14:05

Lokoja - No fewer than 23 supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  in Kogi State were injured following a clash with some thugs alleged to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reports Daily Trust.

The APC supporters were said to be returning from a rally at Ajaka in a convoy of six buses when they were attacked at Akpanya-Odolu intersection by the suspected PDP thugs.

The thugs were alleged to have used dangerous weapons to attack the APC supporters.

Chairman of Kogi APC Governorship Campaign Council, Humphrey Abah, alleged that the thugs were led by a prominent PDP chieftain in the area.

Abah said all the injured have been taken to hospital for treatment.

But in a swift reaction, spokesman of the PDP in the state, Bode Ogunmola, said members of his party have no hand in the attack and urged the APC to look inward.
