Lagos - A total of 300 aspirants are contesting for 40 seats in the Lagos State House Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, an official said on Thursday.

Henry Ajomale, the Lagos State Chairman of the APC, gave the figure during the screening of the aspirants at the party’s secretariat in Lagos.

Ajomale said that the party’s primaries for the House of Assembly and House of Representatives elections might hold on November 19.

He said: “We are having the screening for the House of Assembly aspirants.

“By next week, we will probably hold screening for House of Representatives aspirants.

“That is why we do not want to fail in terms of timing for primary elections for the House of Assembly and House of Representatives.

“Those are the ones we are going to do in Lagos State.”

Ajomale also said that 13 members of the party had so far applied for the governorship ticket, while 147 members were aspiring for seats in the House of Representatives.
