05 February 2016, 16:04

Makurdi - Less than two weeks to the February 20 senatorial rerun in Benue South, no fewer than 7 000 aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Otukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, reports Thisday.

The defectors were led to the PDP by a former chairman of the party in Ogbadibo, Matthew Ochigbo.

Ochigbo said they decided to join the PDP in order to support the aspiration and wishes of the people of Idomaland and to lend their support to the reelection bid of the immediate past Senate President, David Mark.
